“Keep shining the light in the basement.”
It was such a great pleasure to interview Ian Gilligan!! He was so full of information (which he provided below in a follow-up email to me) and just a cool guy to hang with. I have met alot of people who left jobs, moved across country and started a new life but no other quite as organized and with what looks like, a pretty good plan.
Ian’s past life consisted of working in the world of finance, which says to me, he knows where to hide the cash!! We talked about that by the way. That also means he knows how to spend, save, invest and move the cash around. We talked about that a little also.
I really hope you like listening to us chat and ramble on at times at the beach as much as we liked hanging and rambling!!

Instagram Post Management:
A. Hootsuite – If you have a lot to post this is a no-brainer. Their free version is all you need to schedule 1 post for each day of the month. Pictures will upload directly; for video posts, they send you a notification and prep the post but you then have to manually push it to Instagram.
Another perk is that the format of the text transfers correctly into Instagram (this never works consistently for me when I post manually and it looks like many others struggle with this).
B. “Later” is an alternative to Hootsuite. Nice monthly newsletter for keeping up-to-date with new features/changes to Instagram.
Instagram accounts with content I like:
@oaklandsmostpowerful – impressive diagrams for TGU, SWING, etc.
Mace + KB: @leo_the_iron_lion
Other: @functionalpatterns @
The Shrugged Collective: Has 4 or 5 different podcasts within it.
Check their website out…I really think these guys know how to leverage web/Facebook/Instagram/
A. The Strong Coach – a 5 or 6 part series on what it takes to be a great fitness coach. He also has coaching masterminds on this topic.
B. Barbell Shrugged is great for training matters – They just did one with Laird Hamilton on his new offering XPT training.
C. The Bledsoe Show – Anything Mike Bledsoe is interested in.
